When we refer to the time of the beginning we see what John was referring to. John is written to keep us in the salvation which we will get if we repent, get baptized, and receive the holy ghost. In this lesson, we learn to stick with the one who never failed. When we read that Adam was cast out of the Garden we discover that it was because he disobeyed God. God told him to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam was supposed to obey a truth in order to stay in there. Our faith in God's Word given to us will keep us from dying and preserve us to eternal life.
