Why Did Jesus Fast?

Why Did Jesus Fast?

In this lesson, we ask, Why Did Jesus Fast? The power of prayer and fasting is quite evident in the earthly life and ministry of Jesus. Someone asked Jesus, why his disciples ate and drank while the other disciples fasted often and made prayers. He let them know, His disciples would, after He was taken from them. The length of time Jesus spent in the wilderness was not without purpose. Why Did Jesus Fast?  It produced a dimension of power He could get in no other way. Jesus was able to quote the holy scriptures with great authority and effect. He had a powerful anointing to preach, heal, deliver, recover, and liberate. Jesus did this often because he knew he needed faith in order to be effective. In short, he needed faith to do whatever he could not do on his own as the son of man. Do you and I need faith?
