We can gain an understanding of the times by being submissive (Romans 12:1-2).  Obey what the Lord tells you to do, when He tells you to do it. Having a strong prayer life. Watch and pray. God talks to those who talk to Him. Listen to the still small voice. Reading and studying the Word of God on a regular basis. Knowing Jesus in such an intimate way that you can declare His testimony (1 Corinthians 2:1-2).
