Happy Birthday, Jesus.

Generally, when someone’s birthday is celebrated, they are honored and gifted presents. On this day, we say we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, but what present are we giving him?

If Jesus was asked what ‘present’ He wanted for His birthday…

Romans 12:1 (KJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Jesus wants us for His birthday! He wants us to ‘present’ Him our minds, so that He can transform them into the same mind that He has.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jesus wants us to ‘present’ Him our hearts, so that He can pour out His love into them.

Romans 5:5 (KJV)

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

He wants us to give Him our hands, so He can make them holy, so that we can lift them up without anger and dissention.

1 Timothy 2:8 (KJV)

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

He wants us to give Him our feet, so that they will be ordered by the Lord to walk in the spirit.

Psalm 37:23 (KJV)

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Galatians 5:16 (KJV)

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

He wants us to ‘present’ to Him our bodies so they can be used as instruments of righteousness.

Romans 6:13 (KJV)

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Remember, He has already given Himself to us…

Romans 5:8 (KJV)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

So, on this Christmas day, and the days ahead, let us give Him what He truly wants for His birthday: you. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:21 (KJV)

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
