A World Becoming Less Interested in God

 

Proverbs 30:12-13 (KJV)

12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

 

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (KJV)

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

 

2 Thessalonians 2:12 (KJV)

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

 

We live in a world where people take no notice to what they worship; idolatry has swept over the earth. Don’t believe me? Take a look at your friends on social media. It’s not usual to see someone worship athletes, singers, actors, wealthy people, and even religious leaders!

 

It seems that people will talk about and worship just about anything, except for church and God. Due to society skewing the general public’s perception of truth, it’s become taboo to be a Christian. More than ever, folks want to be closet Christians and only exercise their faith on the Sunday mornings they decide to get out of bed and actually come to church.

 

Then there’s people who will come to church every Sunday, no matter what, but they just ‘put in their time.’ They come on time, but leave as soon as church is over. They’ll buy whatever they want, but neglect paying their tithes. They see the church struggling, but have no desire to serve.

 

This attitude is drawing people further and further from God, because all He desires is to see us work for His kingdom.

 

Even worse, some say, “If you go to church, it doesn’t matter which one you go to.” Many people go to church’s based on their preferences, not what their doctrine is. This is a huge problem, because there is only one truth and if we aren’t continually searching out our salvation for it, then we don’t even truly care if we’re saved or not! What a church teaches matters folks! It’s the Word of God, not the word of whomever!

 

It has even come to the point where some people believe they can be successful Christians without attending church. They don’t deem being a part of the body of Christ important; they’d rather sleep in on Sunday than wake up to hear a preacher tell them what they don’t want to hear.

 

Repent? Me? Why me?

 

Pray? I don’t want to pray.

 

Give? I work hard for my money…

 

I want to live my life the way I want to live it!

 

People are molding God to them, rather than letting God mold them; the way it’s supposed to be.

 

Man looks for the answers to the simplest questions in the most complex places.

 

“When and how did the universe begin?”

 

“Where did man come from?”

 

“What’s the cure?”

 

“How can we bring the world to peace?”

 

The answers to these questions are in Jesus Christ! He is the light of the world, by His guidance and your faith, you can unveil real truth!

 

2 Timothy 4:1-4 (KJV)

1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
