I Believe

Mark 9:24-25 (NKJV)

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

I believe

  • Electricity
  • President
  • “Not me”
  • Sock thief

Romans 12:3-4 (NKJV)

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,

  • Everyone has a measure of faith.
  • How much it increases depends upon you.

Hebrews 11:1-2 (TLB)

1 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.

2 Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith.

Faith is like noses, everyone has one, some are large, and some are small.

What you need in the quantity of faith is already inside of you.  You just have to get what is on the inside to grow until it is on the outside.

  • Sponge dinosaurs
  • Chia pets

Faith is not the problem, but rather the implementation of faith.

It is not enough to just believe in electricity, but rather the belief that moves you to the light switch to utilize the electricity.

James 2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

We have and use faith on a daily basis with God.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

3 Things about 1:1 that takes great faith!

  • Belief that there is a God
  • God has creative powers
  • God is interested in humanity and individuals

I must not only believe that God can, but also that God will and will do it for me.

This is what our text describes in perfect detail.  “I believe, but help my unbelief”.

Romans 10:13-17

13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,

Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If I believe and then act upon my belief, the product of faith and works results in my salvation experience starting.

JUST BELIEVE!

JUST BELIEVE!

I believe that no matter what my wife sends me to find, I will not find it no matter what!

  • Baby jumping off the landing of the stairs.
  • Simple faith
  • No questions
  • No extenuating circumstances
  • No excuses
  • Just an “I believe” and jump

Mark 10:46-52 (MSG)

46 They spent some time in Jericho. As Jesus was leaving town, trailed by his disciples and a parade of people, a blind beggar by the name of Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus, was sitting alongside the road.

47 When he heard that Jesus the Nazarene was passing by, he began to cry out, “Son of David, Jesus! Mercy, have mercy on me!”

48 Many tried to hush him up, but he yelled all the louder, “Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!”

49 Jesus stopped in his tracks. “Call him over.” They called him. “It’s your lucky day! Get up! He’s calling you to come!”

50 Throwing off his coat, he was on his feet at once and came to Jesus.

51 Jesus said, “What can I do for you?” The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “On your way,” said Jesus. “Your faith has saved and healed you.” In that very instant he recovered his sight and followed Jesus down the road.

  • Jesus came his way
  • Chance of a lifetime
  • Stories about Jesus
  • I BELIEVE!
  • Refused to allow situation or surroundings to stop him from reaching out
  • Miracle received

God does not use an iPad, Day-Timer, watch, or timepiece of any kind.

My miracle or salvation is not regulated by time.

My only prerequisite is to believe, and leave the timing completely up to God.

I BELIEVE!

TODAY IS YOUR DAY!
