Celebration Of The Redeemed

Isaiah 44:21-24 (KJV)

21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

  • Celebration- a cause to rejoice or to have a joyous occasion, not just an emotion but a lifestyle
  • Redeemed- ransom by means of a price, to procure the life of a captive or a slave by means of paying a price.  When a specific price is paid, the idea of redemption also includes deliverance from danger, oppression and captivity!

Luke 4:18-20 (KJV)

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 (KJV) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

  • His commission in coming is to ransom our souls from the clutches of sin.

Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

  • No question
  • No decision
  • No opinion
  • Just born into sin, and shapen in iniquity.
  • Our lives were marred by sin before we could ever sin.
  • THE PROBLEM NEEDED AN ANTIDOTE!

1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

There is a joy in living for the Lord, that is unequalled by any other emotion known to humans.  With that joy comes the satisfaction of knowing that you have been purchased by Gods own blood.

GOD PURCHASED US WITH HIS OWN BLOOD!

Psalm 74:2 (KJV) Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

Isaiah 43:1 (KJV) But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

  • Silver & gold were the 2 most precious metals of that day, but even they could not compare in value to the precious blood of Jesus!
  • Nothing but His own blood could buy our redemption!
  • There are about 5 qtrs. of blood in an average man AND THAT WAS ALL THAT IT TOOK TO BUY REDEMPTION FOR THE WORLD!

WE ARE THE REDEEMED!

  • When the blood of Jesus was applied to you in baptism, you became a part of the redeemed.

Genesis 8:20-21 (KJV)

20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

  • Noah sang the song of the redeemed after getting out of the ark.

1 Peter 3:20-21 (KJV)

20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

  • They came through the water and were redeemed by the Lord.

Exodus 15:20-21 (KJV)

20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

  • Miriam led the song of the redeemed after coming through the Red Sea.
  • They also came through the water.

Matthew 27:51-53 (KJV)

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

  • This is where the purchase price was paid for all eternity!
  • His blood purchased our salvation from sin!
  • CALVARY had a purpose!
  • The blood, the pain, the sorrow all had a reason and that reason was US!
  • Darkness defeated
  • Sin conquered
  • Antidote given
  • Salvation came
  • Answer shouted throughout eternity

2 Veils

  • 60 ft. high
  • 20 teams of horses could not pull it apart
  • 1 piece of material

What the law could not do in breaking down the partition between us and the Spirit of the Lord, GRACE DID!

Psalm 71:22-23 (KJV)

22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

Psalm 107:2 (KJV) Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Isaiah 35:8-11 (KJV)

8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Isaiah 52:9 (KJV) Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

LET US NEVER FORGET OUR REAL REASON FOR JOY IS THAT WE ARE REDEEMED!

  • Our joy is not because of the hoopla of Pentecost, that is just emotion, but because we have been redeemed by His precious blood.

Revelation 19:1-6 (KJV)

1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

  • John could not think of anything greater to describe what he heard and saw.
  • Words were not definitive enough to describe the roar of the redeemed as they said ALLELUIA!

Revelation 19:7-8 (KJV)

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

  • The greatest song of the redeemed will be sung there!

1 Peter 1:12 (KJV) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

  • We were not created, but formed!
  • We are not forced, but use the option of choice!
  • We are not slaves, but servants!

Our celebration comes from us knowing what we were, and who we are today…

WE ARE THE REDEEMED!

Not an emotion, but a lifestyle of celebration!

NO MATTER:

  • How long the road
  • How high the mountain
  • How tough the struggle
  • How dark the night
  • How sick the body
  • How hard the battle
  • There is a hope that keeps us on the path…
  • There is warmth in our coldest hour….
  • There is strength in the weakest of legs…

Romans 8:35-39 (KJV) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • WE ARE MORE THAN…THROUGH CHRIST!
  • Only by redemption…

Sin was our destruction, but Calvary is our salvation!

It’s no wonder our-

  • Gratefulness leads us to worship…
  • Worship cannot be restrained…
  • Hearts are filled with an overwhelming love…

REDEMPTION CALLS FOR THIS KIND OF CELEBRATION

An exhilarating

  • No holds barred
  • All of your heart
  • Wild & crazy

THE CELEBRATION OF THE REDEEMED!
