Seed Of Possibility

John 12:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

The NIV version of that scripture says;

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

Notice the word (Except) one definition of (Except) is unless, in other words unless you are willing, another word for willing is eager, unless you are eager to die out to yourselves totally, then you will abide alone, but if you allow yourselves to die out to your flesh, then you through the promise of scripture can bring forth much fruit.

I want to preach tonight on this subject “THE SEED OF POSSIBILITY”

I want you to know something very interesting about seeds. Before a seed can even begin to grow it must first fall to the ground before it can be transformed, and changed.

Teaching us that before we can ever become anything great in God, we must 1st be humbled, we must be willing to be brought down, to go to our knees in the spirit of humility in order to be used of God.

Isa 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Jesus said with his own lips; Matt 18:4

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as a little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

We all have a problem with being humbled.

We all have built within us a spirit of self-exaltation, we want to be lifted up and honored and spoken highly of. That’s human nature, but can I say; human nature is not God’s nature. Here me if we want to become something great in God, it’s going to happen when we humble ourselves as a little child.

God’s nature is servant hood. That is why he gave us this scripture that even, the greatest philosopher that has ever lived could not tell the mystery of the seed.

You see, it is in the darkness of the subterranean regions of loneliness where change occurs for the seed. The embryo of greatness dwells in secrecy, and that is something we all need to learn. The embryo of greatness dwells in secrecy.

Matt 6:6

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

You see, If we are not in the secret place, then when God comes for looking for somebody to use, and were not there, he will use the one that is in the secret place.

There is not a one of us that is able to understand the miracle of water that is able to seep down through the thick layers of dust and mud and harden ground to make its way down to the seed to be able to discover the seeds potential. We can’t fathom that kind wisdom.

Understand the water has to seep through the earth, through the mud through the dirt, and then when it makes it way though the earth, then has to soak through the shell or the coating of the seed to be able to (bring to life) the potential that is locked up within that seed. That all happens in the secret place.

The seed can only be changed by time and by patience through endurance and perseverance in the secret place.

But if time and patience, endurance and perseverance, is applied, then when the time is right the seed will slowly swell. And then it will burst forth from the seed coating and slowly stretch forth upward toward the light of life.

And then can be seen the inward potential that was locked away in obscurity.

The contents will be known, it will not be able to be hid any longer, and forgotten. But now dormancy becomes the platform of discovery.

That which was hidden is now brought to light, that which was veiled is now made open and public, secrecy is now revealed.

And if each and every one of us could just understand the seed of possibility that we have living within this earthen vessel.

Some of you can’t understand why it’s taking so long for you to be noticed or for you to spring forth on the seen so that you can be what you know that you have been called to be.

But I’ve come with a word from the Lord tonight, be patient, don’t be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Don’t get weary and discouraged, your time is coming.

Paul said in; 1 Cor 15:58

Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

In other words be patience and endure and keep you perseverance up.

You see the truth of God’s word is coming alive in some of your lives.

But Unless that kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it will produces many seeds.

God is giving us all some time to die out to ourselves, he’s patient and longsuffering and tolerant with us, until we can die out to ourselves.

Yes that means; Dying out to our own dreams and our own desires and our own wants .

I believe we are starting to understand the kingdom principal, that I am not my own I have been bought with a price and God is working something great and marvelous in my life, so that I might make a difference in someone else’s life.

So I ask? Are you willing to die out to your flesh to produce seed for someone else to be saved.

I want you to know, when you plant a seed and you bury it, it lies there in the soil unknown and unnoticed and sometimes even forgotten for a while.

That’s the mystery of the seed. But the farmer understands that if he did everything he was suppose to do and he planted and he planted in the right season and if God lets it rain and the sun to shine and the soil is uncontaminated, the seed will eventually grow.

And it is the desire of this ministry, of this church to create a climate of growth for every seed that is represented here.

I believe we have seeds of possibility right here in this church right now, to do the miraculous, to do the impossible, to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, to offer recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

But it will not happen with a proud spirit, a spirit of exaltation, a spirit that says look what I did. It will only happen if we are willing to die out to self.

1 John 3:19-20

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

You see God understands that buried within us all (and I do mean all of us) is the potential for Love and Hate, to be Good or to be Bad, to be Kind or to be Mean.

The heart is a mysterious creation, of will and emotion; it is the seat of our eternal destiny. That is why it is so important that we guard out heart.

And sometimes the will and the emotion that we all have within us gets all messed up and then we have to deal with confusion and condemnation and fear.

But it is this time of (hard times) of tests and trials and tribulations, that the content of the heart is revealed. And in this process of struggle, and resistant, and effort and humility God can change our hearts for the better.

The heart is like a seed, it cannot be fully developed until it 1st fall into the ground and die; but if it die, it will bring forth much fruit.

And if you’re faithful to the house of God, and you will allow the ministry of this church to preach and teach the word of God to you.

Then the word can be like water that can penetrate the old crusty flesh and it can get down through tradition and ideas and beliefs and lies, view points, and attitudes, and water you with truth. So that you can begin to show fruits of righteousness.

Paul said; 2 Cor 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I want to tell us all something, after we came to God and were buried with him in baptism and then were filled with his spirit. We shouldn’t want to do the things we used to want to do.

Paul said; I’m a new creature now.

Realize this as Paul said; Rom 7:15-17

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

That’s why he went on to say in; Gal 5:16-23

Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:

I want you to know something, only those that are willing to be in total submission to God is going to make it. We have too many Christians with their own agendas, and ideas.

But were serving a God that can see past all of the façade, all of the hypocritical ways, hidden agendas and lying and sneaking around, God sees it all.

God has an in-depth knowledge of all intentions and all agendas, he sees past every ambition of selfishness.

He knows what will grow; the secret chambers of the heart is not hid to him.

That is why it is so important that we serve him with our whole hearts.

Never forget, “There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops”.

====================================================

I want you to know there is hope for the seed tonight. For the scripture says God is greater than the heart, and he knows all things.

He sees and he knows what is in the seed of our future. And God can take that unproductive soil of our lives and transform it into something great and wonderful.

But you’ve got to willing for God to do a work with you.

Hos 10:12

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

You see God wants to take our past mistakes and misfortunes and our failures and indiscretions and make something wonderful out of them.

I believe there is a seed of holiness living within each and every one of us. But while were living in obscurity, and hidden in loneliness and brokenness and darkness it’s hard sometimes to see any good thing in us.

Friend through, water, and sun and rain and perseverance and patience and seasoning that seed can manifest itself in our lives.

If we will just wait on God and let his word prune and trim and work with us we can grow into something great for the kingdom of God.

In Matt (26) Peter denied the Lord (3) times but need I remind you that in John (21) The Lord asked Peter also how many times he loved him, (3) times when the Lord asked him to feed his sheep.

Jesus knew that locked within the cellar of Peter’s soul was a man who loved God and wanted to do what was right. Even though just a few days and weeks before he was cursing the Lord and denying him. But God knew the soil of Peter’s heart.

Bottom line is, is that Jesus knows what is in our heart.

He sees the dirt and the filth and the hate and the jealousy and the pride in all of our hearts. And we all know that were subject at anytime in the right circumstance to manifest some of those spirits.

So when I stand here and I say that you can be something great and wonderful for the Lord, what were all saying, I believe it, but in the back of our minds were saying to the Lord; “Thou knowest all things”.

And Jesus knows how were feeling.

The perception of Jesus was that :Oh” he’s just the carpenters son. They even said one time; “Can any good thing come out of Nazarath?”.

There is no way they looked at him as the “Messiah”

Jesus whole message for 331/2 tears was hope, and deliverance, and salvation.

Yet right after his death on the road to Emmaus we find two men saying in;

Luke 24:21

But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

In other words, we though he was the one that was going to redeem Israel, but now it is here the third day, it’s not going to happen, he wasn’t really who we though he was.

They were ready to throw their hope and their deliverance and their salvation away with just a little bit of doubt.

Everyone’s perception of Jesus was so shallow.

You see as long as he was performing miracles and opening blinded eyes and walking on water and healing and casting out devils and feeding the multitude, he was good enough to be their saviour.

But the moment they crucified him, and humbled him and put his body behind the stone and cover him up their hope was gone.

But Jesus understood; Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

The truth of the crucifixion was this; That hope and deliverance and salvation was not dead and gone. But it was hidden in death. Hidden in obscurity.

And if Jesus Christ had to do it, brother and sister get ready to be humbled and cast to the ground and die because it’s the will of God to get the seed to grow so that we can bring forth much fruit in our lives.

The Son of God was buried in mystery, beneath the soil of lamentation, in the darkness of postmortem secrecy; a seed of Abraham was at work.

Jesus broke out of the shell of human limitation, went to the gates of hell and kicked open the doors, walked down the cold dark corridors of hell found Satan, reached into hands and took back the keys to death hell and the grave and came back to this world and set free whosoever will.

But it would of never happened if the seed would of never fell to the ground and died. Jesus would of died on that cross all-alone.

But when he died he took your sins and mine and the sins of the whole world with him. And now he bringeth forth much fruit.

I want this congregation to know, God did not design us for failure, he designed us for fruitfulness.

The scripture states that if “You sow in tears, you will reap in Joy” it goes on to say “In due season we shall reap if we faint not”.

When God put Adam into a deep sleep, he took from his side a companion called Eve. When you study the meaning of that name it means “The mother all living”

Need I remind each and everyone of us, the same productive seed lives within each and everyone of us? We are to be fruitful and multiply until the whole world has what we have.

And the reason a lot of times were not having revival and seeing folks saved like we would like to see saved, is because we don’t like dying out to ourselves.

We want the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life and we don’t want to die out to those desires. But I’m telling each and every one of us; unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

We were all designed to produce revival in a barren land.

Col 1:10

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

“Fruitful” here means “fertile” when seeds of truth are planted in the heart of faithful saints of God, it will surely produce fruits of the Spirit.

True Christianity is not a barren field of religious legislation, it is a fertile field of the fruit of God spirit, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance.

Every child of God has the seed of Apostolic identity living within us.

Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

If I take and apple and I take a real big bit out of it, locked within it is potential for an orchard.

And when the world comes in contact with a child of God it ought to unlock the seed of hope and the seed of deliverance and the seed of salvation in their lives.

There is an orchard of Apostolic opportunity in this house tonight if we will all be willing to fall to the ground, and in the spirit of humility and be willing to die out to ourselves and say not my will but thy will be done. And die so that we might bring forth much fruit.

John 4:35

Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Matt 9:37-38

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Who’s willing tonight? Who will say Lord take me and let me fall into the ground and die, and if I have to I will abide alone with no recognition, praise, or glory: but if it die, I want to die knowing, I’m going to bring forth much fruit.
