It’s Time To Fullfill Your Destiny

1 Sam 9:1-2

9:1 Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

2 And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

Verse–15-17

15 Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 Tomorrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

Then in,1 Sam 10:6 the Bible says.

6 And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

Verse, 9

And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.

VERSE 7 SAYS; For God is with thee.

I read all these verses to show you that the prophet Samuel did not choose Saul (per say) nor did the children of Israel choose Saul to lead them out of the bondage of the Philistines, but rather God chose this man.

Not as some after thought or by mistake, but this was the man that God had chosen.

The Lord chose him, anointed him, gave him another heart, and went with him.

In essence what the Lord was telling Samuel, “Take a good look” Samuel, This is the man I have chosen, this is the man who will do the job, this is the man that has been blessed with a destiny, and purpose, and a future

And what I would like to preach in this anniversary service.

That, IT’S TIME TO FULFILL OUR DESTINY!

We’ve been called for such a time as this, we’ve been chosen, we’ve been given a job to do, not by man or by mistake, but by God, so LET’S FULFILL OUR DESTINY.

——————————————————————————————–

What is “Destiny”? In simple terms, Destiny is God’s purpose for you. It is your appointed and ordained future. Destiny is what God has predetermined for you to become, it is his divine will for your existence.

It is so sad at times to read within the scripture and even see in those that we have went to church with for so long, people who have missed their destiny.

They have aborted the plan, and the will of God for their lives, they started out right, had a great desire, but somewhere along the way they got sidetracked and missed out on their destiny.

So I come tonight to this church in your____ anniversary, and I ask you, are you ready to fulfill your destiny?

Saul was a man that missed his opportunity, God himself choose Saul to lead his people out of bondage.

When the prophet Samuel first laid eyes on Saul, the Lord said, “…Behold this is the man that I have chosen, he will be the one to lead my people, and reign over them.

An anointed man, and man that at one time was led by the Spirit of the Lord, he was gifted with a spirit of prophecy, destined by God to lead Israel — and God was with him. He was a man with a destiny, he was mighty man of valor, he was a great worrier, he feared God, and he loved God. That’s why God chose him

But yet one of the most tragic pictures we see within this book is when, Saul, the king of Israel began to come apart. He only walked in his destiny for a while. He started off right, but somewhere along the way got tripped up.

He got within himself and instead of trying to fulfill his destiny, he started desiring the applause of the people, he began to compromise the plan, and will of God. And the plan of God was to lead God’s people out of bondage.

Can I say to this church, we have not been called to compromise our message, we cannot compromise our mission as a church, we must try and save the lost at any cost, the mission of the church has always been to save souls and perfect the saints. We cannot compromise that message. We have a job to do.

I want you to notice in the life of Saul, when he was coming to the end of his life, now he was faced with one of his biggest battles of his life, But his heart now was filled with fear.

1 Sam 28:15

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams:

By his own admission, the Lord had left him, and now his heart was filled with fear, because he chose rather to please the people, rather than please God, and trust God.

Church I feel that we are coming near, to the coming of the Lord, I feel that we will be the generation that will see him come in the clouds of glory, and now that we are at the end of the race, this is no time to compromise our principals.

My heart is not filled with fear, and worry, and confusion, God has not forsaken us as some might believe, but I understand that my life and your life has been filled with destiny.

Our churches do have purpose, our people do have a ministry, God is still adding to the church daily such as should be saved, and there is a reason we are here tonight worshipping and praising God,

WE UNDERSTAND OUR DESTINY!

All throughout the bible there were Kings, and Priest, and Prophets, and Saints, and Servants, Worshippers, and Shepherds, and Tentmakers, that had destinies to fulfill. And all throughout the scripture there are lessons for us to learn.

And that most important lesson for us to learn is that we cannot compare our destiny to theirs. What God did for them in times of old was for them, but I believe that God wants to do something fresh for us, something new.

Isa 43:18-19

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Can I remind you that the Prophet Joel seen our destiny in a vision, and said in

Joel 2:28-29

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

God will not judge this generation, by what our forefathers did. Their lives have nothing to do with our destiny; they will have their just reward.

But our generation will be judged by what we have been given, and what we have done with what we have been given.

This wonderful Apostolic truth.

This powerful word of God.

This glorious Holy Ghost.

They taught us how to Worship and Praise God, they’ve passed down their convictions. They’ve given us stability, and faithfulness.

We are living in a generation that wants to make all kinds of excuses; we want to blame everyone else for our struggles.

·        We want to use for and excuse as a church, that were living in a wicked society.

·         Perilous times, people are worse now than what they were then.

·        We say as Pastors, the saints don’t love God like they use to, their not as faithful.

But can I say to the church, this is our time, this is our chance; this is our opportunity. Today is the day of salvation.

Let’s quit making excuses, let’s quit waiting for a more convenient time, we have no other time, and we have a destiny to fulfill.

Rom 13:11

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

You see The devil doesn’t care how much we do for God, as long as we don’t do it today.

It is his job to get you to pass up your opportunity; to lose your chance, and to give up on your destiny.

But we’ve been given a mandate by the all mighty God through his word to work while it is yet day for night cometh and no man can work. As Jesus said; As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

We have the Holy Ghost, we have the message, we have the anointing, and we have the power.

Paul said in; 2 Cor 4:7-9

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Yes, We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

I believe where we need to get as a church, is understand we don’t have time any longer to have our own personal destinies, it time we come together as the church, as one mighty army, and understand we have a job to do. Were all striving for the same place, ultimately we all want to be saved, and we want our friends and families, and our churches to be saved, we have a job to do.

Eph 1:4-6

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Listen to what God is telling us, in essence in the last days, or if you please in the fullness of time, I have given you a purpose. And that is to come into the adoption of Jesus Christ. To live blameless, to praise and glorify my name.

Why because I have been predestined you according to my purpose, to praise and glorify my name.

Our destiny is to be an adopted child of God! We have been adopted by the heavenly Father — and the devil no longer has any claim on us.

Do you get what Paul is saying to us here? No person’s destiny is measured by his great works, his achievements and exploits, his special

accomplishments.

Here me, it’s not our jobs as the church Jesus Christ to be in competition with other churches.

I’m so tired and I’m sure you are to of always thinking that we have to be running so many people in our church or that we have to be in this size of building to be successful in the eyes of people.

But can I say to all those critics; I’m already a child of the king, I’m already predestined unto the adoption of Jesus Christ. If we could get this as the church, we could see that just because your running 500 and were running 50, or 60 or 100, were all going to the same place. And your mansion won’t be any bigger than mine and crown won’t be any prettier than mine.

God is not requiring some great accomplishment from us.

Mic 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?   That’s the plan and will of God for your life.

God has a destiny for us, and we will not find that destiny through the natural eye. It will come by a heavenly vision.

Prov 29:18….Where there is no vision, the people perish:

The purpose of vision, is to give direction, and guidance, and insight into the will of God.

Vision is something that addresses the future, and is not swayed by the today, it will not be change by circumstances around it or by the obstacles that will try to detour it, but it is something directed by God to give purpose and direction for the future.

In fact It’s already they’re waiting on us to arrive at its destination.

The Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor 5:7

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

When we as the church understand that we have a destiny and that God has called us, and chosen us, and anointed us, to run this race, and to fight this fight and we begin to follow the destiny that has been laid out there for us then we as the church will have fulfill our destiny.

Paul said; forget those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Heb 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame,

How could Jesus endure that cross? He saw what was on the other side of the cross, he understood his destiny, and purpose.

He saw down through the annuals of time, a church in this city, at this time, for this hour, for souls that needed to be saved.

God understood that destiny was a good place for dreams, and he also understood that the future far exceeds the accomplishments of the past.

Destiny will not be determined by chance but by choice.

A certain courthouse in Ohio stands in a unique location. Raindrops that fall on the north side of the building go into Lake Ontario and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, while those falling on the south side go into the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. At precisely the point of the peak of the roof, just a gentle puff of wind can determine the destiny of many raindrops. It will make a difference of more than 2,000 miles as to their final destination. The spiritual application is clear. By the smallest deed or choice, we might set in motion influences that could change our own destiny, and our future, that will affect our eternal destiny.

Sometimes we feel that we have no destiny, or purpose, and we ask ourselves what could God ever do with me. But friend let me remind you your finger is not as big as God’s, your mind is not as big as his, your thoughts are not his. His dreams are bigger than yours.

In closing let me say; God has given you a destiny, he has sketched out a plan for you. And there will be those that will question you destiny, but you remember God has called you, and anointed you, and chosen you. And it’s time you fulfill your destiny.

In this service tonight Bro and Sis Clemmons I want you to know your not alone, were praying for you. Churches all across this country are praying for you, and this fine church, so that you will find your destiny, and will do and will accomplish what God has chosen you to do for his kingdom.
