Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus, We expect to die one day. Because of this, we cannot trust in ourselves to give us eternal life or to raise ourselves from the dead. We are to trust in God who can raise the dead and who can give eternal life. The Bible tells us time and time again that we need to trust in God and of the promises that come along when we trust in Him. You cannot separate trust and obedience they work hand-in-hand.  As our scripture reading says we do not trust on ourselves but we trust upon God. Jesus is the Master and we are his servant.
