In this sermon The Error of Abraham and the Galatians, The Galatians made the same mistake Abraham did. They started out well, but went back into bondage with WORKS.  Hagar represents what is reasonable to the mind and does the work required without a miracle. That is flesh. And flesh rises up and is wild and torments. Living for God is not performing before Him to gain his pleasure. People today perform to save themselves. They have a distorted view of living for God. They live by a rule book. This is the same thing the Bible talked about when Paul kept saying we are not justified nor saved by works of the law. Works of the law referred to Old Testament commandments. People think obeying the ten commandments will save them. People who are already saved will obey the ten commandments, but the commandments do not save anyone.
