In this sermon Speaking in Tongues, we learn when the tongue has been surrendered to God. This displays thorough surrender to God’s will.  Also, tongues are an obvious, external and observable event that can be detected.  Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit may follow, but are never used as “tests” of the Spirit’s presence.
