In this sermon Smell Of Fresh Bread, God is constantly bombarded with the smell of our sins. Yet, he wants to abide with us. He wants to live with us, but we stink too badly. The only chance we have for God to live in our presence is to cover up the smell with something that he finds pleasant. Something like the smell of your mother’s muffins. Not only must the smell of our sins be covered with the aroma of fresh bread. The smell must be constantly renewed with fresh bread week after week.
For us, we have no temple to fill will the smell of burning incense. We have no table upon which to place plates of fresh bread every week. For us there is provided for us a new loaf of bread that is Jesus Christ. We need to constantly bake that bread of Jesus Christ anew in our lives every day. Bring fresh bread into our lives to constantly stir up the Holy Ghost, and renew the sweet aroma. Remember to fill your life every week and every day with the fresh loaf of bread. The bread of life that is Jesus Christ.
