The Bible tells us to Sing with The Understanding. Our singing will be more edifying, not to mention pleasing to God when we understand better what we sing. So let's think about our songs. One thing that helps is to notice the different kinds of songs that are in our song book. All the songs, of course, can be described as "spiritual songs," but it helps to break them down even further. When we do, we find there three general kinds of spiritual songs.
