Once your spiritual apartment has been cleaned, God is the one that desires to take up residence there. The waters of baptism create a spiritual vacuum within us. If we do not fill that void with the Holy Ghost as our new tenant, then the pressures of the world will eventual force their way in. Nature abhors a vacuum. If you are going to take something away, you need to replace it with something else.
