Jimmy Buffet once wrote a song called “It’s 5:00 Somewhere.” The premise of the song was that 5:00 was happy hour and that somewhere in the world It was 5:00, so it was acceptable to have a drink. Now I don’t know how much I agree with Jimmy Buffet’s reasoning’s, but there’s definitely something the church can take away from this old song. Sin removes us from fellowship with God, but repentance restores us right back. You cannot earn God’s love or favor! Your life is a direct reflection of your image of yourself, and that, in turn, stops the flow of God to lift you up above your problems. We are the apples of His eye! Joy is what we are after in our lives. Happiness is fleeting. Joy remains! I want to live an OVERCOMING LIFE! No matter our circumstances, problems, struggles, burdens, baggage, etc…; It’s 5:00 Somewhere!
