Many Christians walk in a selfish love that is easily disappointed when expectations are not met. You can only be disappointed to the degree that they fall short of your expectations. If you require certain behaviors from those in relationship with you, you're setting yourself up for offense. Jesus said it is impossible to live in this life and not have the opportunity to be offended. If you require that God do everything in your life according to your expectations, you set yourself up for offense. Jesus warns of false prophets immediately after His prophecy of many being offended.
