In this sermon He Is My Everything- I Go In His Name, The phrase "in the name of the Lord," is one that infers something being accomplished as though God Himself were accomplishing it. The priests ministered to Israel as though God Himself ministered. The people were made to understand that God was behind everything that those priests did. David told Goliath that he did. David told Goliath that he did not come with a sword or spear to defeat him. This mere Boy was coming to a giant IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. It was as good as GOD coming to Goliath when David went in His name. God was David's EVERYTHING. "In the name of the Lord," means "in the authority and POWER of the Lord."
