In this sermon God the Man, God the Lion, and God the Eagle, Jesus isn’t shaken by the roaring of the devil’s voice. He does not cower in fear at the sound of Satan’s deceptive lies. When the Lion of the Tribe of Judah roars from his holy mountain, all of creation trembles. Demons run in fear, Satan cowers in terror, for our God is in control of all things. He reigns and no one has power over him. When his voice roars from the Throne of God, the angels in Heaven come to attention. Demons tremble and shake, and whatever comes from the lips of God is instantly carried out for the Lord God, omnipotent, has spoken.
