Discovering The Biblical Views Of Missions
In this sermon Discovering The Biblical Views Of Missions, looks closely at the relationship between God and the nations in light of the gospel. The starting place of missions is the very heart of God. God expresses His missionary vision throughout the Bible, and expects that it will become our motivation for ministry. He gives us the responsibility for reaching our world. Salvation is God’s gift to us, and what we become is our gift to God. John D. Rockefeller Jr., said “I believe that every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity an obligation; every possession, a duty.” A New Testament writer confirms this thinking: “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48). Unfortunately, Adam and Eve, the parents of all creation, overlooked their blessings, turned away from God, and failed to take Him at His Word. Along came curses and consequences.
