This is true because it is an undeniable fact that man is guilty. His guilt is actual. There may be immediate causes which, justified or unjustified, bring guilt to us. But underlying all the spiritual and psychological disturbance of mankind is the irrevocable fact that man is a sinner. He is guilty under the eyes and judgment of God.
