In this sermon Accept No Substitutes, God’s commandment against idolatry is aimed directly at the human tendency to take matters of right and wrong into our own hands.  THIS IS IDOLATRY IN ITS PUREST FORM!  When a person chooses a lifestyle that violates the moral will of God, they are erecting an idol “fashioned by their own hands” and making God over in their own image so that they won’t feel condemned by His commandments.
